When navigating the challenges of life, none of us are meant to face everything alone. Therapy can help shift how you perceive and handle life's challenges in an environment where you can be yourself without fear of judgment. I'm here to support you in understanding, processing, and finding balance in your life. I believe life can be a fulfilling and enriching journey for everyone. I celebrate you for reaching out!
Therapy with Marissa Hackett (she/her), LMFTA
I am a positive and direct therapist committed to creating a warm, empathetic, and inclusive environment for children, adults, couples, and families. I believe that every individual, relationship, and family possesses the capacity for growth, healing, and happiness. My approach is grounded in building strong therapeutic relationships where you feel comfortable bringing your whole self. Together we will explore your strengths, develop meaningful goals, and discover strategies that support your journey. For children and teens, I prioritize caregiver involvement, recognizing that sustainable change often requires collaboration and understanding within the family system. My work with couples focuses on strengthening communication, deepening emotional connection, and rebuilding trust. Drawing from Gottman Methods and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), I help partners navigate conflict, enhance intimacy, and create lasting change. For families I take a holistic, systems-focused approach, understanding that individual struggles often reflect larger dynamics within the family. Together we'll address these patterns, fostering healthier interactions, clearer boundaries, and stronger connections. My work is guided by attachment-based family therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, play therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to support families in building understanding and resilience.
Regardless of the therapeutic focus—individual, couple, or family—I work within an anti-oppressive and decolonization framework, ensuring that our work together honors your experiences, identities, and values.

Rates & Payment Options
At Hummingbird Healing Community, I believe therapy should be accessible and adaptable to your unique circumstances. My standard rate for new clients is $150 for a 50-minute session, but I also offer a sliding scale from $0 to $100, supported by community donations. This flexible model ensures that finances aren’t a barrier to getting the support you need.
How It Works:
Standard Rate: $150 per 50-minute session
Sliding Scale: $0–$100 per session, based on your situation
Community Support: When clients are able to pay the full rate, it helps fund therapy for others who need financial flexibility
Why I Don’t Bill Insurance
I’ve chosen not to work with insurance so that our sessions can be more personalized and private, without the limitations and paperwork that insurance often brings. This also allows us to focus fully on your healing journey, not just what’s covered.
Payment & Scheduling
Payments can be made by credit card, debit card, or electronic transfer at the time of your session
During our first meeting we’ll chat about what feels doable for you financially and make sure our plan fits both your needs.

Reimagining Mental Health Care Together
I am building a community-supported model of mental health care—one where therapy is offered at low or no cost to clients, ensuring access to healing and growth for everyone, regardless of their financial situation, insurance status or ability to pay out of pocket for care. I'm inviting my community to join me in breaking down some barriers. This concept is about more than just providing free therapy. It’s about creating a culture of care where the community steps in to support mental health as a shared responsibility. Hummingbird Healing Community is a Public Benefit Corporation. While donations aren’t tax-deductible, every dollar directly supports expanding access to mental health care for those who need it most.
